Composer

Lucas Lechowski

Lucas Lechowski’s musical journey began at the age of four, when he first picked up the violin as a classical musician. He went on to graduate from the prestigious Katowice Conservatory in Poland, earning a Master's degree in Jazz Violin Performance, a Bachelor's degree in Classical Violin Performance, and an additional Master's degree in Jazz Guitar Performance.

After completing his studies, Lechowski embarked on tours across Europe and the United States, performing with symphony orchestras and various ensembles, where he showcased his versatile talents across classical, jazz, blues, and other genres.

Lechowski has composed over 50 scores for a diverse range of projects, including feature films, TV shows, documentaries, and theater productions. His notable works include The Performance (starring Jeremy Piven, directed by Shira Piven), the ESPN/ABC miniseries Full Court Press (directed by Kristen Lappas), and a two-hour NBC special Where Were You, hosted by Tom Brokaw, commemorating the 50th anniversary of President Kennedy’s death (directed by Harry Moses).

He has also composed music for Virtual Reality experiences, such as In the Cloud, an immersive project for Sony, and for commercial brands like Dolby, Adobe, and Ikea. His scores for short films have earned two Student Academy Award nominations, with one win.

Lechowski has released several solo albums of original music, and his compositions have been featured in various compilations, including the classical series Millennial Masters. He was also commissioned to create music for a permanent modern art installation at the Baltimore Museum of Art.

Lechowski is a Fellow of the Sundance Institute Composers Lab and a Berlinale Talents alumnus. He has been selected for prestigious film scoring workshops, including the ASCAP/Columbia University Film Scoring Workshop, the NYU/ASCAP Television & Film Scoring Workshop, and the Society of Composers and Lyricists Mentorship Program.

Now based in Los Angeles, California, Lechowski draws inspiration from the waves—both the audible waves that create sound and the rhythmic waves of the ocean, which he enjoys exploring on his surfboard.
